Solar panels installed in Manchester can reduce your energy costs to as little as £0.05p per kWh

How much money can I save with solar panels installed?

You can reduce your energy bills by up to 80%. Electricity costs have grown this year by over 100%, and a renewable energy source like solar panels mean that you will be able significantly reduce your energy bills every year.

Will I have to use electricity from the grid at night?

Without batteries you will have to, but thanks to affordable solar battery storage systems, you can store up the energy produced by your solar array during daylight hours for use through the night when you need it. Discrete Lithium Ion batteries allow you to maximise your energy generation, and use it when you need it most, at night.

My roof doesn’t point south – Can I still have solar panels installed?

Solar panel systems work well on east or west orientations as well as south facing, even on shallow pitched north elevations, solar systems can still generate approximately 70%. This means business’ with a large energy bill and a big north-facing roof can still take advantage of free, clean solar energy.

Our photovoltaic cells don’t need direct sunlight – they work well in overcast weather, and shaded areas. Each solar system is customised to work with your property, and micro inverters or solar edge power optimisers can be included to guarantee that your renewable energy source is running as efficiently as possible

Do solar panels require planning permission?

Usually, installing solar panels does not require planning permission, it is included within your Permitted Development Rights, however. Certain businesses, will require planning permission. If you work in a listed building, or within a Conservation Area, then we are always available to provide any guidance or assistance you might need with planning advice and planning permission before the project begins.

Once I have my solar panels installed, do they need much upkeep

Solar panels don’t have any any moving parts and are mostly maintenance-free. Over time, weathering and other environmental factors such as falling leaves and traffic pollution can affect the performance your solar panels so it’s a good idea to have your solar panels checked every year, to keep them working as efficiently as possible.

If you do experience any issues, we provide fast and efficient maintenance services for all types of business and commercial properties throughout the Manchester and Stockport area, from cleaning to pest control, as well as error diagnostics – usually within an hour of arriving.

How long will my solar panels last?

Solar panels are extremally durable, all of our solar panels come with a twenty-five year performance guarantee. As long as they receive regular checks and maintenance, they can last more than thirty years.

Our guarantee

RECC requires its members to protect deposits, advance payments and workmanship warranties. The Deposit and Workmanship Warranty Insurance (DAWWI) Scheme is one of the products available in the sector, listed on the PDF List. It is provided by Quality Assured National Warranties (QANW) and has been designed exclusively for RECC members to use. Please note that RECC does not derive any benefit, financial or otherwise, from QANW in respect of the DAWWI Scheme.

The DAWWI Scheme protects any deposits you have taken in the unlikely event that your chosen Renewables installation company cease to trade before the installation is complete. The maximum deposit we can take is 25% of the total contract value.

The Requirement

One + All, formerly Rowlinsons Knitwear, are an employee-owned company with B-Corp status and Planet Mark accreditation. The company wanted to reduce their reliance on electricity from the grid and to install a Solar PV array with the aspiration to become zero carbon in their manufacturing process.

KAST provided as part of phase one, a feasibility report on the required size of array to achieve their zero carbon goals.

The Project

From the analysis provided in the feasibility study, One + All immediately recognised the benefits of contracting with KAST to provide a 131 kWpSolar PV system. KAST delivered the project over a two-week period with no disruption to company activities, and provided:

  • Detailed technical design
  • Full project management, supply, installation & commissioning
  • Full handover including Documentation and G99 grid connection.

The Outcomes

The company achieved its ambitions of operating a Zero Carbon facility and have further engaged with KAST on additional renewable energy technologies for One + All and also for its staff to engage with KAST for their own personal and residential projects.

Want to purchase Battery Storage too?

Battery storage is the capture of excess energy produced by your solar panels for use at a later time. Storing energy to use when needed is the main reason we suggest battery storage alongside Solar PV.

Energy storage is the capture of excess energy produced by your solar panels for use at a later time. A device that stores energy is generally called a battery. Energy storage involves converting energy from forms that are difficult to store to more conveniently or economically storable forms.

Battery discharge and charge rates are often referred by referencing a “C” rate of current. The C rate is that which would theoretically fully charge or discharge the battery in one hour. For example, slow charging might be performed at C20 (over 20 hours), while charging and discharging may occur at C2 (two hours for full charge). The available capacity varies depending on the discharge rates.

BESS – Battery Energy Storage System

Need more? The BESS system gives our Commercial, Industrial and Agricultural clients the opportunity to take control of electricity generated from their Solar Panel array and as an alternative to feeding in to the grid for small financial reimbursement simply store and release the energy for their own consumption in batteries from 30KW to 2MW.
