DOW Chemicals spends hundreds of millions of dollars on mitigating steel corrosion in their production facilities. They didn’t believe us and set out on a 2-year path to prove us wrong. They started by exposing our FP250 to a strong solution of sodium chloride. When that didn’t work, they began adding sulfuric acid to the mixture. They were unsuccessful at causing the product to fail.
After years of failures with intumescent and cementitious fireproofing, FP250 is now in DOW’s global specification.
