As soon as I<br \/>\nenter The Chequers pub, a charming \u2018olde<br \/>\nworlde\u2019 pub in Hertfordshire, local to me,<br \/>\nI see a large banner welcoming guests<br \/>\nfor \u2018Psychic Destiny Psychic Nights\u2019.<br \/>\nFour tables to the side of the bar area are<br \/>\nadorned with brightly coloured metallic<br \/>\ncloths, psychics with stacks of cards and<br \/>\nsmall crystal balls, all welcoming me in.<br \/>\nThe host psychic Eleanor Grace (of no<br \/>\nrelation to me!) greets me with a warm<br \/>\nsmile and exudes confidence.<br \/>\nSocial setting<br \/>\nEleanor has been working as a medium<br \/>\nand clairvoyant for thirty years, and<br \/>\nit\u2019s clear she knows her stuff. My first<br \/>\nquestion is about the choice of venue \u2013<br \/>\nI had wondered if pubs are rather \u2018low<br \/>\nvibrational\u2019 for spiritual energy.
