About Advanced Roofing

Advanced Roofing Ltd are a family run business founded in 1988 by our Managing Director David Hartshorn and business partner Gordon Harris. Starting with asphalt flooring and waterproofing the business has steadily expanded and become specialists in a range of construction elements and offering a complete envelope solution.

The company is still family owned and David is joined by his wife Lisa Hartshorn, our Financial Director. Long serving employee Gary Richardson is our Operations Director.

Advanced Roofing hold a core belief in bringing through talent from all ages and offer a range of apprenticeship programs for both office and site based staff whilst promoting career progression to all staff members which has led to having such a strong core of long serving staff.

Estimating and Pre-Construction

Our Team of experts will look through each project from tender stage to the first day of installation to ensure the right system is chosen for each project, offering unrivalled levels of detail in our draughting department supplemented by vast experience of our estimators and pre-construction managers to not only highlight better buildability options and products but also work with other trades with interface issues and detailing to give the project the best chance of progressing smoothly when it hits site

A team of experienced Contracts Managers manage a range of projects supported by dedicated full time site based Site Managers help maintain our company guidelines on quality of installations as well as the health and safety of not just our own operatives but all interfacing trades on our sites. We use a portal based document and quality management system in line with many main contractors to issue all of our reports and progress photos of our projects. The contracts team is aided by our buying team who are the lionk between pre-construction and contracts making sure all deliveries reach site when required and the main contractor can have confidence that any products on long lead times are accounted for.

Our commercial team are built up from individuals that have been with Advanced since the early days in their careers and have bought in to our ethos that building relationships with the main contractors is key to success, they are eager to visit sites to walk projects with the main contractors commercial and project team to give the most accurate and fair valujations and final accounts possible which allows Advanced to secure repeat business on a regular basis

Our team, headed by Lisa our FD, maintain financial control, smooth procurement processes and all related compliance requirements

Accounts – covers all key financial area’s such as payroll, accounts receivable and payable alongside all financial reporting

Buying – Ensures all products and services are purchased as required. All area’s of our supply chain are utilized and sustainability is considered throughout our purchases and deliveries to site

Compliance – Ensures the companies core beliefs and ethos is incorporated in all legal requirements and responsibilities. Co-ordinating and implementing our training and development program, enabling career progression and CPD. Maintaining all accreditations and ISO certifications. Ensuring we are effectively looking at sustainability in all areas and continuing to monitor our Carbon Footprint and tracking
